STRESS SKILLS SESSION
Life brings a lot of stress. In this session, we will talk about healthy ways to handle what life brings (big and small). We will then try these techniques to see what works best for each individual camper.
Gardens to Grow In will host a hands-on cooking competition where the campers are the chefs and the challenge will be to make a delicious and healthy meal with only the ingredients provided. We will learn how healthy cooking can not only taste good but help with our mental and physical health.
PASSION AND PURPOSE
This session, we will discover where your passions and skills intersect. We will learn how to align your life with what matters most to you. This session promises to be fun and impactful!
How can you find an actual job in that field you love? We will have local agencies come and teach practical skills on how to find a job, stand out in an interview, and build confidence for the real world.
Grab a brush, and dive in as we learn to express and understand emotions through artistic expression. We will learn how art can resolve issues; as well as manage feelings, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and awareness.
Ready for adventure? Moaning Caverns has many challenging activities and our campers will get to choose from riding on the 35MPH zip line or going on a walking tour into California's largest vertical cave chamber. This session will help you concur fears and enjoy this ride called life!
Horse therapy is an equestrian focused session that uses specially trained horses to help improve camper’s physical and emotional wellbeing. This session will focus on how horse therapy can enhance self-awareness and teach practical life skills for reaching your potential.
Life can throw us a curveball at any time and it is not always easy to know where to go for help. This session will connect campers to the local resources available to them because we all need a little extra help now and then.
Mindfulness combined with stretching is a powerful way to reduce stress, anxiety, and tension. This session will teach us to how to focus on the present moment and regulate our emotions through breath and exercise.
