Worth It FAQs
WHAT IS THE WORTH IT RETREAT?
We are excited to announce our girls' branch of the STRONGER BRAVER brand. Our goal is to build strong, independent young women who recognize their inner self-worth. We will focus on building healthy relationships and what it means to have unstoppable self-confidence. Our goal is to surround our ladies with an encouraging space to help them grow, rise up, and be heard!
HOW MUCH DOES THE CAMP COST?
Thanks to our community partners and generous donors, this camp is completely FREE of charge. We, along with our supporters, believe that finances should not be a barrier to attend camp, so this is our way to give back!
WHY DO CAMPERS HAVE TO APPLY?
Our number one priority is to offer this camp to those who would not otherwise be able to afford or have the opportunity to attend camp. As stated above, because our camp is completely FREE, not all campers who apply will be accepted. With only a limited number of spots, we choose campers based on need so we want to hear your story; and get to know you a little better and see if you will be a good fit.
WHAT DO I DO AFTER I APPLY?
We will contact you within 1-2 weeks of your submission. We will confirm your application status and the next steps, if accepted. If you have any other questions please contact Cheree Munoz, Camp Director, (209) 728-3109.
IS THIS AN ONLY GIRLS CAMP?
Yes, the Worth It Retreat is only offered to girls. We hope to expand our camps in the future and add on an only boy retreat. We do offer a co-ed camp STRONGER BRAVER in the Summer.
WHAT AGES ARE ALLOWED?
Right now, we are currently taking high school age girls from Calaveras County. Students going into freshman year or just graduating senior year are still eligible.
IS THIS A RELIGIOUS CAMP?
Although our retreat is hosted at a Christian camp facility, it is not a religious camp. We want to welcome campers from all walks of life and make each person feel accepted!
WHAT DO I WEAR TO CAMP?
Pack comfortable and modest clothing. Tennis shoes or other closed-toe
shoes are required for many activities. Dress in layers and prepare for cooler temperatures. Please label everything you bring. Things do get lost or damaged at camp. Please do not wear expensive jewelry, or bring items of value.

WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?
All campers will sleep in the camp dormitory. There is a 10-separate bedrooms with 2 sets of bunk beds in each room. Campers will be placed with one counselor and 1-2 other campers. You can make roommate requests on your application, however, there is no guarantee the request will be honored. Please also note that camp policy requires that room doors stay open at all times except if one person is changing in the room alone by themselves.
ARE CELL PHONES ALLOWED?
In order to take in the full camp experience, we ask campers to leave the cell phones and devices home. We have found that it makes for a more impactful camp experience to take a break from technology while soaking in the fun and nature that surrounds us.
WHAT SHOULD CAMPERS EXPECT FROM CAMP?
The STRONGER BRAVER brand is committed to making each camper feel welcome. We all come from different walks of life; each with our own story. We embrace these differences and learn to grow from each other. Our counselors are fun, supportive, and great listeners! We are not here to point your moral compass but instead help you find your own path for success. We want to to do this in an encouraging and accepting environment where you can be yourself!
WHAT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?
Please feel free to contact us with any more questions. You can email
Cheree Munoz, Camp Director, or call (209) 728-3109.
HOW CAN I HELP VOLUNTEER OR FINANCIALLY SUPPORT?
We are always looking for people to come alongside and help. We need counselors, volunteers, speakers, and financial supporters. If you love our vision and want to jump on board please check out our volunteer tab or read our support page!
